Titles in this Collection (Overview)
Ruff
Ruff, the new dog in the nursery, celebrates a birthday with Old
Bear, Bramwell Brown, Little Bear, and the rest of the stuffed-animal
menagerie.
Hoot
It’s about a group of stuffed animals who hear a strange noise in the
night and Little Bear discovers a new and helpful friend named Hoot (a
fluffy stuffed owl with a little blue apron). We would love how the
stuffed animals discover how to do shadow puppets.
Splash
On a trip to the seaside, Old Bear, as irrepressible as ever, goes
off in search of his beach ball and finds himself face to face with a
strange creature with a furry head and a seashell necklace. Is it a
shark? Is it a dolphin? No, it’s Splash the baby seal! Little Bear has
found a brand-new friend, and soon the two are speeding through the
waves on an exciting adventure.
Jolly Snow
Jolly Tall is desperate to see the snow, but it’s not cold enough
outside. His friends decide to show him the magic of snow by creating
special indoor snow. Their first few attempts are unsuccessful but Old
Bear soon comes up with the answer and the toys are soon enjoying an
indoor snowstorm. With warm and humorous colour pictures, Jane Hissey
recreates both the magic of snow and the cosy world of the nursery.
Jolly Tall
When a strange package arrives in the nursery, everyone is puzzled.
What on earth could it be? Little Bear is sure it’s full of treasure,
but Duck has his doubts. ‘It’s probably empty,’ he grumbles. But when
the box speaks, it is clear that something much more exciting than
treasure is inside.
Little Bear’s Trousers
Little Bear loses his little red trousers and we follow him on his
quest to find them. Always a step behind its fun to see what his friends
have tried using his trousers for. It’s a very cute book and well
illustrated. I think this will be a bed-time story for a long time to
come.
Little Bear Lost
It all begins when the toys decide to play hide and seek. Old Bear
counts to ten as all of the other toys hide. Old Bear struggles to find
any of the toys as the room is so untidy so he decides it would be best
if they cleaned the room first, and then continued playing. All of the
toys gather round to do so, but then comes the realisation that Little
Bear is nowhere to be seen.
Old Bear
Old bear is a fictional children’s story where toys come to life!
Brown bear had a strange feeling that his friend old bear had been
forgotten after being placed in the attic. He decides that they shall
all go on a mission to rescue friend old bear down from the attic.
Several attempts are made before Rabbit and little bear realise that
they can rescue old bear by flying in a toy helicopter up to the attic.
They are successful in doing this and Old bear is found and reunited
with his friends.
The Boat Race and Little Bear’s Dragon
In The Boat Race, the toys build their own boats and have a race
along the stream. In Little Bears Dragon the toys come across a fearsome
dragon sleeping in the playroom.
Old Bear’s All-together Painting
The toys want to do their very own painting — one that will fit into
Old Bear’s big picture frame. But as the toys begin, things don’t go
according to plan. Jolly’s spots dribble and Little Bear gets more paint
on himself than the paper. But Old Bear has a plan that shows just what
working together can achieve.[Note: Jane Hissey Collection of 10 Books set is beautifully-illustrated classic picture book exciting reading for Childrens.]
