Author of Bourne Series- Robert Ludlum 9 Books set is action packed crime mystery thriller collection. Following you can get overview of each book:
The Cry of the Halidon
A geologist is paid to survey Jamaica by a
secret cabal of financiers that wants to take over the island and
create their own country. MI-5 enlists him to get to the bottom of the
plot.
The Rhineman Exchange
“The man from Lisbon” is used as a go
between during World War II with an exchange between the US and Nazi
Germany. He wasn’t told all the details, especially that he was going to
be left as the fall guy, so this story is about the adventures
surrounding his discoveries. David Spaulding is first sent to New York
and then Bueno Aires on a mission of deceit. The problem is much of the
deceit is directed towards him. Slowly and methodically the man from
Lisbon unravels the layers of lies to discover the unbelievable and
unsavory truth.
The Road to Gandolfo
Gandolfo is Ludlum at his least serious
(it was originally published under a psuedonym). General Mac Hawkins is
unceremoniously, though deservingly, booted out of the army for
extremely rude behavior. With the unwilling help of his military
attorney Sam Devereaux, Hawkins hatches a plot to kidnap the Pope and
extract a ransom from the Catholic church. Mac has the help of his four
ex-wives, who have a knack for showing up in exactly the right place at
exactly the right time.
The Tristan Betrayal
The Tristan Betrayal is shockingly a very
interesting book to read. Kinda has the old Ludlum flair of the Bourne
and Matarese mixed in. Although sadly Ludlum never finished the story,
the story at the beginning is pure Ludlum, with the end showing the
loopholes of a less creative mind. The story starts with Stephen
Metcalfe receiving word from a woman he thought had forgotten him. The
love of his life at a time when the Cold War was at its peak. Stephen is
the youngest son of a prominent American family who is invited to all
diplomatic functions. Seeing his well placed connections, his charms and
his smartness, the CIA hires him as their spy. In the course of his
mission he falls in love with the Russian contact who later allegedly
betrays him. The intricacy of the story leaves behind the spy world in
this book. The attraction, the love, the very essence of loyalty is
questioned on both ends. A compelling read for those who loved the olden
ways.
The Matarese Countdown
Brandon Scofield is dragged out of
self-imposed exile on some Caribbean island to once again foil the
rising phoenix of the Matarese inheritance. As I’ve said, I was rather
disappointed with the narrative events of this sequel. Circle was
fraught with narrative dead ends and ‘how can he survive this’ while
Countdown just happened, scripting by numbers.
The Road to Omaha
Discovering a long-buried 1878 treaty
with an obscure Indian tribe, the Hawk — a.k.a. Chief Thunder Head —
hatches a brilliant plot that will ultimately bring him and his
reluctant lawyer Sam before the Supreme Court. Their goal: to reclaim a
choice piece of American real estate — the state of Nebraska. Which just
happens to be the headquarters of the U.S. Strategic Air Command?
Will they succeed against the powers that
be? Will the Wopotami tribe ever have their day in the Supreme Court?
From the Oval Office to the Pentagon, all the president’s men are
outwitted, until it rests with CIA Director Vincent “Vinnie the Bam-Bam”
Mangecavallo to cut Sam and Hawk off at the pass.
The Chancellor Manuscript
Did J. Edgar die a natural death?…or was he murdered?
Inver Brass—a group of high-minded and high-placed intellectuals who
see a monstrous threat to the country in Hoover’s unethical use of his
scandal-ridden private files. They decide to do away with him—quietly,
efficiently, with no hint of impropriety. Until best-selling thriller
writer Peter Chancellor stumbles onto information that makes his
precious books like harmless fairy tales. Now Chancellor and Inver Brass
are on a deadly collision course, spiraling across the globe in an
ever-widening arc of violence and terror. Hurtling toward a showdown
that will rip Washington’s intelligence community apart—leaving only one
damning document to survive.
The Scarlatti Inheritance
In Washington, word is received that an elite member of the Nazi High Command is willing to
defect and divulge information that will shorten the war. But his defection entails the release of the ultra-top-secret file on the Scarlatti Inheritance – a file whose contents will destroy many of the Western world’s greatest and most illustrious reputations if they are made known… THE SCARLATTI INHERITANCE is a spellbinding story of international terror and intrigue, greed and cunning, uspense and murder.

The Apocalypse Watch
After three years deep under cover, US
agent Harry Latham has penetrated the fortress-like mountain hideaway of
the Brotherhood of the Watch, a neo-Nazi organisation born after the
fall of the Third Reich. Then, on the eve of his most spectacular
success, Harry disappears. Drew Latham, a Consular Operations officer at
the American Embassy in Paris, is frantic to discover his older
brother’s fate. But when he receives the good news that Harry has
surfaced, serious doubts arise. Has Harry’s cover been blown? And if so,
why has the Brotherhood of the Watch let him live? Can Drew trust his
brother? The search for the truth about Harry plunges Drew into a
labyrinth of deceit and death. And whoever gets out alive holds the fate
of the free world in his hands.
